A letter to Friends

Thank you.

Dear Patients and Friends,

I am writing to let you know that, regretfully, I have decided to transition out of clinical dentistry.  Since I began my dental career 40 years ago, I have passionately and energetically pursued my goal of providing excellent dental care in a safe, warm environment.  It has been a privilege and an honor to be your dentist over the years and I am forever grateful for the confidence you have shown me and for trusting me with an important aspect of your health—your dental care.  My father and I have treated many of you for decades and consider you extended family. I am going to miss the practice of dentistry, and I am certainly going to miss all of you.

I interviewed many dentists in order to find someone to take over the care of my patients, somebody who would provide excellent clinical care and maintain the highest ethical standards with a warm and caring touch.  I am proud and delighted to say that I have found someone I believe to be an excellent fit, Dr. Jamie Lee. Her vision for an exceptional patient experience mirrors my own and I am pleased she will remain at our current location.  She is talented and knowledgeable, and an ethical and caring dentist.

Dr. Lee is a Southern California native, having grown up in the nearby town of La Canada Flintridge. Graduating from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Cell Biology in 2007, she discovered her true passion for dentistry and obtained her Doctorate of dental surgery degree at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, my alma mater.  After dental school, she moved back down to Southern California and married her college sweetheart just down the street at the Muckenthaler Center in Fullerton. Dr. Lee spent the last five years working as an associate at one of the top rated dental practices in Irvine and is excited to carry on my passion of providing conservative, quality dental care.

The office location and telephone numbers remain the same, as will our amazing staff: our hygienists Marta and Shannon will continue to keep your teeth sparkly clean, Elizabeth will continue to assist Dr. Lee chairside, and Roxanne will continue to assist you at the front desk and on the phone.  Dr. Lee and I are working toward a seamless transition. I sincerely thank you for your warm support, confidence and patronage over all these years. As the torch is passed to Dr. Lee, I hope you will help welcome her to our office. With her enthusiasm, experience and personality, coupled with the excellent hygienists and assistants you already know, I can confidently say I am leaving you in very good hands.

With Sincere Best Wishes,

H. Curt Nelson, D.D.S.
